Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Ingersoll, ON is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for an existing vacancy. The role involves providing nursing care to residents as part of a dedicated team, under the Director of Care, and ensuring comfort, dignity and respect for residents.

Rate of pay is $31.31 - $35.09 per hour, per Collective Agreement, with a salary package including health, dental, SOAR, and employee share plans, plus ongoing learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics/rehabilitation is an asset.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, orders, plan of care, and scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care using sound practice principles.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and effective communication with staff and residents.
• Oversee resident care and communicate with residents and families; guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Handle admission, readmission, and changes in status with ongoing assessment.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the Sienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
