Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for casual, on-call coverage in Calgary. The role covers vacations and open shifts with 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm, and 11:00pm-7:00am shifts; weekend availability is preferred.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health.
• Strong clinical judgment and risk awareness.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada or valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, orders, and resident care plan.
• Deliver high-quality nursing and personal care.
• Foster a welcoming environment through teamwork and communication.
• Oversee resident care with families and staff guidance.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/unregulated staff on the unit.
• Manage admissions, readmissions, and changes in status with ongoing assessment.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of theSienna Senior Livingteam and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
