Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for the Secord Trails Community in Ingersoll, ON. This permanent casual position reports to the Director of Care and supports residents with compassionate nursing and care planning.

You will provide clinically skilled nursing, supervise care teams, and collaborate with families to ensure residents' comfort, dignity, and safety on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation or senior health is an asset.
• Good judgement and ability to identify risk; foster a positive work environment.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician orders, and residents' plan of care.
• Ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care.
• Create a welcoming environment for residents through teamwork and effective communication.
• Oversee resident care with regular communication with residents and families, and guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Admission, readmission, and change in status; ongoing resident assessments.

What you'll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of theSienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician's orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
