Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is recruiting a Registered Practical Nurse for Cawthra Gardens Community in Mississauga. The position reports to the Director of Care and focuses on delivering compassionate nursing care to residents in a home-like setting.

You will work within established policies and care plans, supervising care staff and coordinating with families. A supportive, inclusive culture and opportunities for professional growth are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Asset: experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation and/or senior health industry.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.
• Vulnerable Sector Check and/or Criminal Record Check may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in accordance with policy, physician orders, and resident care plan within RPN/LPN scope.
• Deliver high-quality nursing and personal care.
• Foster a welcoming environment through teamwork and communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care and communicate with residents and families; guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Perform admissions, readmissions, and ongoing resident assessments.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of theSienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
