Job summary

Woods Park Community and Retirement in Barrie, Ontario is seeking a part-time Registered Practical Nurse to join our team. The role offers a competitive pay rate of 33.24–34.78 CAD per hour under the collective agreement, with benefits and growth opportunities.

You will provide nursing care, support residents and families, supervise team members, and participate in admissions and ongoing assessments to enhance daily life for our residents.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics or senior health is an asset.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada with valid authorization.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, physician orders, and resident plan of care.
• Ensure delivery of nursing and personal care with sound nursing practice.
• Create a welcoming, supportive environment through teamwork and clear communication.
• Oversee resident care with families and guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers assigned to the unit.
• Conduct admission, readmission and status change assessments.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Practical Nurse is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the Sienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
