Job summary

VON Canada is seeking a part-time Visiting Nurse to deliver holistic, client-centered care in home settings, clinics, virtually, and in the community. You will perform assessments, plan care, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support children, youth, adults and seniors.

The role involves travel, PPE usage, and a focus on reducing hospital visits through skilled home-based care. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, ongoing development, and a defined pension plan,

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice.
• Criminal Records Check may be required; Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may be necessary.
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Perform client assessments and develop individual care plans.
• Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
• Administer wound care, including complex and negative pressure wounds.
• Manage chronic diseases and provide diabetes care and education.
• Conduct IV therapy and CVAD management; phlebotomy and specimen collection.

Our Visiting nurses provide client care in the client’s own home. They provide physical assessments, symptom control support, palliative care, rehabilitation therapy, wound care, education, counselling to individuals and families and much more.

What we're looking for

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
• Community health experience is an asset
• Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
