Job summary

VON Canada is a not-for-profit organization delivering home and community care for over 125 years. We seek a Registered Nurse to deliver holistic, person-centred care in clients' homes, clinics, or virtually, with an emphasis on autonomy and full-scope practice.

You will collaborate with other healthcare professionals and engage in community outreach, while also driving as part of your duties. You will assess clients, develop care plans, manage chronic diseases, provide wound care, IV therapy,

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice.
• Community health experience is an asset.
• Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance.
• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary.
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities

• Client assessments to develop individual care plans.
• Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
• Simple and advanced wound care, including complex and negative pressure wounds.
• Chronic Disease Management, e.g. diabetes care and education.
• IV therapy and CVAD management.
• Phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Dialysis Management.
• Rehabilitative programs.
• Palliative and End of Life Care.
• Medication management.
• And many other critical nursing skills.
