Job summary

VON Canada is hiring a part-time Visiting Nurse (0.5 FTE) to deliver holistic, person-centred home and community care. You’ll assess clients, develop care plans, and work with a team across home visits, clinics, and virtual settings. Expect autonomy, ongoing professional development, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Must be a licensed RN in the province, have a driver’s license and vehicle insurance, and be prepared for a Criminal Records Check. Travel compensation is provided.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice.
• Community health experience is an asset.
• Must enjoy driving and have a personal vehicle with valid insurance.
• Satisfactory Criminal Records Check; Vulnerable Sector Search may be required.

Responsibilities

• Client assessments to develop individual care plans.
• Provide primary care in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
• Wound care, IV therapy, dialysis management, and medication management.
• Rehabilitative programs and palliative/end-of-life care.
• Operate in home, clinic, or virtual settings as needed.

What you’ll do:

• Client assessments to develop individual care plans

• Simple and advanced wound care, including complex and negative pressure wounds
• Chronic Disease Management, e.g. diabetes care and education
• IV therapy and CVAD management
• Phlebotomy and specimen collection
• Dialysis Management
• Rehabilitative programs

• Medication management
• And many other critical nursing skills

What we’re looking for:

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
• Community health experience is an asset
• Must enjoy driving, have a personal vehicle and possess both a current driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance
• A satisfactory Criminal Records Check is required; a Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may also be necessary
• Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
