Brightshores is seeking a registered nurse for Day Surgery/PACU in Owen Sound. You will promote health, assess and treat patients in PACU during phase I and II recovery, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires Ontario nursing registration or eligibility, 2+ years PACU/acute care experience, and strong computer skills in Cerner/Outlook. A BScN and ACLS are preferred, with a commitment to continuous professional development.

Qualificações

• Registered nurse with Ontario nursing license or eligibility.

• Broad surgical experience across subspecialties.
• Post Anaesthetic care course completed within last 3 years.
• Current certification in venipuncture, IV meds, PCA, epidural analgesia.
• Strong computer skills in Cerner/Outlook.
• Willingness to cross-train in PACU.
• Commitment to patient safety and continuous professional development.

STATUS: FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. END DATE DECEMBER 2027)

REASON TO POST: DIRECT REPLACEMENT

WAGE RATE: $41.15 - $58.98

Reporting to the Manager Surgical Services, the responsibility of the registered nurse is the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, measures to adults and children during phase I and II recovery within the perianesthesia setting in Day Surgery and PACU.

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

Required:

• Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibility
• Minimum 2 years PACU and acute care nursing experience within the past 5 years
• Broad surgical experience required in all subspecialties
• Successful completion of Post Anaesthetic Course within the last 3 years
• Physical Assessment Course or equivalent
• Coronary Care Certificate I or equivalent
• Current certification in:o BCLSo Venipuncture to start an IVo IV meds below the drip chambero PCAo Epidural analgesia
• Demonstrated computer skills in MS Outlook and Cerner applications (Powerchart and Surginet) or equivalent
• Willingness to cross train and be scheduled in PACU

• Excellent assessment skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
