Brightshores Health System in Owen Sound seeks a part-time, temporary Registered Nurse for Day Surgery/PACU. The role supports perianesthesia care in phase I and II recovery for adults and children, reporting to Surgical Services Manager.

Requires PACU experience, Ontario RN registration, and strong assessment and collaboration skills. The position offers a wage rate of $41.15–$58.98 per hour, with part-time, temporary status through December 2027.

Qualificações

• RN with Ontario license or eligibility is required.
• Minimum 2 years PACU and acute care nursing experience in the last 5 years.
• Broad surgical experience across subspecialties.
• Post Anaesthetic Course completed within last 3 years.
• Physical Assessment Course or equivalent.
• Coronary Care Certificate I or equivalent.
• Current venipuncture certification and IV meds/PCA/Epidural analgesia training.
• Competent with MS Outlook and Cerner (PowerChart/Surginet).
• Willing to cross-train and work in PACU as required.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and collaboration with patients and team.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.

WAGE RATE: $41.15 - $58.98

Reporting to the Manager Surgical Services, the responsibility of the registered nurse is the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, measures to adults and children during phase I and II recovery within the perianesthesia setting in Day Surgery and PACU.

Skills/Abilities/Qualifications

Required:

• Ontario College of Nurses registration or eligibility
• Minimum 2 years PACU and acute care nursing experience within the past 5 years
• Broad surgical experience required in all subspecialties
• Successful completion of Post Anaesthetic Course within the last 3 years
• Physical Assessment Course or equivalent
• Coronary Care Certificate I or equivalent
• Current certification in:o BCLSo Venipucture to start an IVo IV meds below the drip chambero PCAo Epidural analgesia
• Demonstrated computer skills in MS Outlook and Cerner applications (Powerchart and Surginet) or equivalent
• Willingness to cross train and be scheduled in PACU
