You value education and professional development. This unit features a competency-based palliative care orientation along with continuous professional development opportunities through Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care. Additional on-site learning and training may include IV insertion training, IV Therapy, CADD pump, palliative sedation therapy, CVAD, complex and palliative wound care, code blue, end of life pain and symptom management.
You are altruistic. Enhancing quality of life is important in this role. From symptom management, to pain control, and overall comfort, the care you provide contributes to a better patient experience.
We are a 32-bed unit that provides palliative and specialized complex supportive care. Our team provides ongoing, comprehensive in-hospital care to patients with chronic, complex medical and nursing needs. With 8 dedicated beds for palliative care patients, our palliative program provides nurses with symptom management and communication skills development. We help patients adapt to changes resulting from their illness or diagnosis. We focus on quality of life and help patients transition to the most appropriate setting.
Job Type: Casual
Salary: Minimum - $37.93/hour; Maximum - $54.37/hour
