BC Hydro in Burnaby is seeking a Recruitment Coordinator to support the hiring process with strong communication and organizational skills. This temporary full-time role requires coordinating postings, interviews, and candidate travel, while ensuring compliance and timely updates to managers.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or diploma and at least two years of recruitment experience, preferably in a unionized environment, with ATS experience being a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years in recruitment, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Experience with an electronic ATS is preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain clear, concise communication with Recruitment Partners and the team to facilitate screening and hiring.
  • Post roles on internet and print sites and adjust postings to maximize ROI.
  • Coordinate and schedule candidate interviews and non-posted recruitment activities.
  • Ensure timely completion of recruitment processes, including background checks and pre-employment checks.
  • Provide regular updates to managers to aid timely decision-making.

  • The candidate will be responsible for maintaining regular, clear, and concise communication with Recruitment Partners (RP) and the team to facilitate the applicant screening, selection, and hiring process.
  • The candidate will be responsible for executing legally compliant role postings on internet and print sites, refreshing or removing postings as required, and making adjustments to maximize return on investment.
  • The candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling candidate interviews.
  • The candidate will be responsible for coordinating non-posted recruitment, including hires.
  • The candidate will be responsible for confirming the eligibility of Candidates to bid (Time in Role).
  • The candidate will be responsible for conducting and/or facilitating candidate testing assessments as required.
  • The candidate will be responsible for coordinating candidate travel and processing required reimbursements.
  • The candidate will be responsible for managing the process to ensure the timely and accurate completion of recruitment processes, including Background checks and other pre-employment checks, as required.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing regular updates and feedback to managers to facilitate timely decision-making.
  • The candidate will be responsible for participating in and facilitating process improvement and standardization work.
  • The candidate will be responsible for serving as the first responder for applicant inquiries, participating in resolving candidate questions, and researching information to provide timely follow-up.
  • The candidate will be responsible for serving as the Recruitment contact for candidates and managers when the Recruitment Partner is unavailable.
  • The candidate will be responsible for providing support to the Recruitment Partner in responding to selection grievances.
  • The candidate will be responsible for performing other duties as required or assigned.
Job Requirements
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma or certificate in a related discipline.
  • Candidates with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of recruitment-related experience, ideally within an intermediate to large unionized environment.
  • The candidate will be preferred if they have experience working with an electronic Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • The candidate must demonstrate a passion for customer service and client relationship building.
  • The candidate must learn quickly in a fast paced environment.
  • The candidate must work well with deadlines.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a strong teamwork orientation and organizational skills.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • The candidate must demonstrate strong business acumen and decision making skills.
Work conditions
  • The candidate must work in a hybrid arrangement, with a minimum of two days a week in the office.
  • The candidate may be required to travel occasionally to other headquarter locations within the Lower Mainland.
