- The candidate will be responsible for identifying alternatives to address vendor performance issues, relationship management issues, and vendor non-compliance while ensuring lessons learned are identified and applied and difficult conversations lead to constructive, mutually beneficial outcomes.
- The candidate will be responsible for managing, evaluating, and improving supplier relationships and performance as required, while proactively identifying contract opportunities to enable the expected benefits from the sourcing strategies.
- The candidate will be responsible for working closely with Supply Chain to execute early involvement activities during pre-award, including the review of supply chain strategies, contracting plans, scopes of work, specifications, draft RFx documents, and the final contract document, while identifying areas of improvement that enhance vendor performance under the contract.
- The candidate will perform day-to-day contract management activities, including, but not limited to, chairing progress meetings, monitoring contract schedules, managing contract scope and changes, managing claims and disputes, accrual reporting, validating payment requests, tracking contract submittals and other deliverables, contract interpretation, and close-out.
- The candidate will collaborate with project teams to ensure contract performance meets the needs of the project.
- The candidate will be responsible for managing contract and resource budgets by developing and managing work packages.
- The candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders to assist in designing and implementing innovative strategies to improve internal processes, enhance vendor management, and optimize contract spend.
- The candidate will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing the financial and other performance of the contract and providing reports to project stakeholders.
- The candidate must have the ability to work with and influence others, including both internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to understand and optimize.
Job Requirements
- The candidate must have a degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, Business, Law, or Finance, along with 7+ years of progressive contract management experience managing complex contracts. A combination of education, professional training, and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- The candidate should have a strong technical background or competency in construction management, engineering, or design, which is considered an asset.
- Candidates with partial or full completion of the Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP-PMAC) Designation and/or International Association of Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) Certification to Associate level will be considered an asset.
- The candidate should have experience operating within Crown corporations or government environments, with familiarity with the utility industry sector considered an asset.
- The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, project management, planning, and organizational skills.
- The candidate must demonstrate proven abilities in contract management, including influencing internal and external parties, managing risk, and optimizing costs through innovation.
- The candidate must have demonstrated experience with successful change management initiatives.
- The candidate must be proficient with MS Office, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- The candidate will be required to maintain a Class 5 Driver’s License in good standing as a condition of employment.
