Job summary

BC Hydro is seeking a Co-op Student in General Commerce, Business Admin, Data Analytics for January Winter 2027. The role is full-time and located at Edmonds 10.

You will conduct business analysis, engage with stakeholders, and prepare data for review while drafting reports and providing record management support. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary program with strong MS Office, data visualization skills (Power BI/Tableau), and familiarity with Python/Java/C++.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in and not yet graduated from a recognized post‑secondary institution in Canada.
• Strong research, analytical, project management, report writing, and presentation skills.
• Experience and interest in business analysis projects, and data analysis/presentation to project teams.
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Google Charts and/or programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ is an asset.
• Strong communication, motivation and results orientation.

Job Requirements

Security and safety

• The candidate will be required to obtain background check clearance as a condition of employment at BC Hydro. This may include reference checks, education verification, employment verification, criminal record check, drivers abstract review, and a drug and alcohol test.

Work conditions

• The candidate will be required to work at the job location for the Co-Op role and will be responsible for making relocation arrangements if necessary.
• The candidate will be assigned to one of four role types that determine the degree of flexibility available to work from home based on the type of work performed.
• The candidate will work in a Field role with no option to work from home.
• The candidate will work primarily in the office, typically 4 or more days per week.
• The candidate may be able to work from home for up to 3 days per week in a Hybrid role.
• The candidate will perform their work from home for 4 or more days per week under the Remote work model.
• The candidate will learn about the utility industry and develop skills in the following areas: process improvement, data analysis and stakeholder engagement, presenting and facilitating information and findings, project management, analytical/strategic thinking, and problem solving.
