Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a dedicated Recreation Worker to plan, develop and run meaningful leisure activities for residents in our long-term care homes. You will promote wellbeing, build community, and support resident skills through engaging programs both in-house and in the community.

The role emphasizes collaboration with families and staff, accurate observation and documentation, and continuous program evaluation to improve quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience working with seniors in long-term care preferred.
• Knowledge of recreation and leisure services documentation.
• Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate activities across wellness domains.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, planning and implementing daily recreation and leisure activities.
• Create engaging spaces in the home to support resident participation.
• Communicate with residents, families, volunteers and community groups.
• Observe and document changes in resident participation and update plans of care.
• Support departments to foster resident engagement.
• Lead programs and participate in quality improvement processes.
