Qualifications

• Prior experience working with seniors, preferably in long-term care.
• Graduate of a post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation or related field.
• Enrolled in a related program with intent to complete within three years.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and run daily recreation and leisure activities in the home and community.
• Create engaging spaces and environments that support resident participation.
• Maintain strong communication with residents, families, volunteers and community partners.
• Observe and document changes in residents’ participation, updating care plans as needed.
• Support other departments to promote resident engagement and program quality.
• Lead programs that maximize residents’ skills and abilities and contribute to ongoing evaluation.
