Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Quantity Surveyor to join our client in Kimberley, responsible for controlling costs from tender to completion on civil construction projects. You will prepare tender documents, analyze costs, administer contracts, manage variations and payments, and ensure financial viability.

The role offers hybrid site/office work and growth on major infrastructure initiatives, with a focus on accurate budgeting, procurement, and cost management across projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of Quantity Surveyor experience in civil construction.
  • Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement, and cost management.
  • Proficiency with measurement and costing software; BOMs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Conduct cost analyses for maintenance and construction projects.
  • Establish and maintain cost-control systems.
  • Administer contracts, manage variations, claims, and payments.
  • Value work done and prepare interim payment applications.
  • Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements and ensure financial compliance.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Kimberley, managing costs for civil construction projects. This role is responsible for controlling and managing all costs related to construction projects from initial tender stage through to final completion. You will play a key part in procurement, contract administration, and ensuring the financial viability of projects. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Undertake cost analysis for maintenance and construction projects.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management principles.
  • Proficiency in measurement and costing software, including bills of quantities preparation.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
