Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Civil Engineer with strong site development experience to join our Kimberley team. You will plan and oversee land development projects, including residential, commercial and industrial sites, focusing on site layouts, grading, drainage and utilities.

Collaborate with surveyors, architects and environmental consultants; ensure adherence to bylaws and environmental standards while shaping local urban development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in site development design and project execution.
• Design site layouts, grading, drainage and utility systems.
• Knowledge of municipal bylaws, zoning and environmental legislation.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer with a strong background in Site Development to join their team in Kimberley . This role is crucial for planning and overseeing the engineering aspects of land development projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial sites. You will be responsible for designing site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and environmental standards. The successful candidate will contribute to shaping the urban landscape of the Northern Cape.

Key Responsibilities

• Design site layouts, including grading, drainage, utility connections, and access roads.


• Prepare Stormwater Management Plans (SWMP) and Erosion and Sediment Control Plans.


• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and environmental consultants throughout the design process.


• Oversee site preparation and construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications and quality standards.


• Conduct site investigations and prepare feasibility studies for new developments.


• Ensure compliance with municipal bylaws, zoning regulations, and environmental legislation.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.


• Professional registration as a PrEng with ECSA is preferred.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in site development design and project execution.


• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and stormwater modeling software.


• Knowledge of South African land development regulations and processes.


• Strong understanding of earthworks, grading, and utility design principles.
