About The Role

The responsibility of the Quality Assurance Technician is to perform day-to-day activities, conduct analysis, and interpret QA information in accordance with Barry Callebaut Policies and Procedures. The QA Technician will communicate and interact with both internal and external customers within Barry Callebaut. The Quality Assurance Technician ensures food and employee safety in their daily routine. They must be able to work independently, make decisions and represent the quality department effectively in the absence of more senior quality representatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and test samples of raw materials, in‑process products, and finished goods, including microbiological and analytical testing.
  • Perform key analytical tests such as moisture, fat content, colour, viscosity, and particle size.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with QA standards, CCPs, oPRPs, and food safety regulations.
  • Maintain compliance with FSSC 22000, Barry Callebaut standards, and customer specifications.
  • Document all test results, maintain traceability records, and report deviations to the QA Supervisor.
  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for outgoing products and verify accuracy of QA and Food Safety records.
  • Support internal audits and assist with audit preparation to maintain certification and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in sensory evaluations for flavour, texture, and appearance.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions by analyzing QA trends and contributing to root cause investigations.
  • Act as a QA point of contact for operations, supporting cross‑functional collaboration and representing QA when required.
About You
  • College Diploma/University Degree with preference given to a science discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Previous laboratory experience is required.
  • High degree of computer literacy with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • SAP experience is an asset.
  • PCQI certification is an asset.
Compensation

Hourly Rate: $30.49

Hours of Work

Continental Night Shift, 6:00pm-6:00am
