Job summary

Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is seeking a Provincial Manager for Atlantic Canada to advance member engagement, regional advocacy, and stakeholder relationships. The role requires coordinating with CAMRT staff, advising CAMRT-ATL, and promoting the MRT profession across Atlantic provinces.

The Manager will work from a home office in Atlantic Canada, with travel across the region and to Ottawa for CAMRT meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bilingualism is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is Canada’s national professional association and certifying body for medical radiation technologists and therapists. CAMRT serves and supports over 11,000 members nationwide to provide patients the highest quality of medical imaging and radiation therapy care, ensuring that medical radiation technologists (MRTs) are certified as having the knowledge, skills, and judgment to enter practice. It is an authoritative voice in medical imaging and radiation therapies within the Canadian health system and the wider community and engages internationally as a leader of the profession. http://www.camrt.ca

Since 2021, CAMRT has been delivering provincial member services in the four Atlantic provinces through its provincial arm, CAMRT-ATL. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and people-oriented association manager to manage the work of CAMRT-ATL, advocate for MRTs provincially in the region and collaborate with CAMRT staff to deliver member value.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Provincial Manager for Atlantic Canada (CAMRT-ATL) will work in cooperation with the CAMRT office staff to advance member engagement, professional advocacy, and stakeholder relationships across the Atlantic provinces while bringing forward critical regional insights to shape organizational direction. Specifically, the Manager will be responsible for:

  • Advance the profile and interests of the profession through regional advocacy and relationship management, including:
  • -maintaining relationships with key governmental and non-governmental partners
  • -taking meetings with members of government (both elected and non-elected), and
  • -interacting with interest holder organizations,
  • -implementing informational and awareness campaigns (directed at elected officials, the public, etc.)
  • Act as a conduit between provincial members and the national organization to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Convene and consult with the CAMRT-ATL Advisory Council
  • Engage in regional member engagement and outreach activities
  • Collect and synthesize feedback received from members
  • Communicate to Atlantic members about association initiatives
  • Use regular communications to communicate with members
  • Collaborate to maintain regional digital presence (website, social media)
  • Support effective planning and execution of regional activities within established frameworks.
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of regional educational events
  • Assist CAMRT leadership with the management of CAMRT-ATL, including operational planning, budgeting, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • MRT Certification
  • CAMRT membership and a good understanding of the MRT profession and the issues faced by professionals within Atlantic Canada
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage projects
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail
  • Strong written communication skills– writing promotional copy, formal communications, reports, news pieces
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong commitment to customer service
  • A high degree of computer literacy in the use of various computer applications, including relational databases, word processing, spreadsheets and web content management and social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, Zoom and Teams
  • Ability to analyze information, prepare reports and make recommendations
  • Experience and expertise in making public presentations
  • Ability to create and maintain strong professional networks
  • Bilingualism is considered an asset

The Manager will work from a home office, based in one of the four Atlantic Provinces. Access to major urban centers and an airport are considered an asset. The Manager may travel extensively within the region for member outreach activities and to Ottawa for CAMRT meetings.

The CAMRT offers a competitive salary and benefits package; based on a work week of 3 days per week.

Compensation

$35-$45 hourly, with final compensation determined based on the successful candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
