Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Drumheller is seeking a Medical Radiation Technologist I to perform standard radiological imaging, including general radiography, CT and US where available. You will interpret requisitions, prepare patients, and produce high-quality images for Radiologist review.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited MRT program.
• Active or eligible for registration with ACMDTT.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

• Interpret physician requisitions, prepare patients for examination, and assist with equipment care and maintenance.

The Medical Radiation Technician I position includes days, evenings, weekends and on-call with a 30-minute response time. Relocation assistance based on eligibility & availability. Description

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program.
• Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

• Recent experience as a Medical Radiation Technologist performing procedures in general diagnostic imaging, including hospital affiliated training programs.
• Good organizational skills and ability to assume responsibility.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent mobile radiography experience.
• CT experience or enrollment/completion of CT courses.
