Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a propane delivery driver based in Red Deer, AB. You will deliver propane to various work sites, load/unload, and maintain accurate delivery records to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver propane to Red Deer, AB sites and surrounding area.
• Fill propane and load/unload for deliveries to customer sites.
• Ensure propane is secure and inspect in transit when needed.
• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
• Secure customer signatures on contracts when required.
• Inform supervisor of delivery/pickup difficulties or new sales opportunities.
• Double-check deliveries to ensure correct orders are fulfilled.
• Communicate with dispatch to adjust for delays.
• Perform daily safety checks and vehicle maintenance inspections.
• Keep the truck clean and professional at all times.

What You’ll Be Doing Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver propane to various work sites in Red Deer, AB and the surrounding area.


• Filling propane and loading/unloading for deliveries to customers sites.


• Ensure propane is secure per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary.


• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.


• Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.


• Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.


• Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.


• Double-check deliveries to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.


• Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified.


• Perform daily preventative maintenance inspections and safety checks to proactively identify and advise of any mechanical issues.


• Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.


• Complete daily accurate pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs and timesheets, as well as checking gas, oil and other fluid levels.

What You’ll Bring to the Team Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid Class 3 or 5 driver's license with air endorsement and a clean or satisfactory drive's abstract (no more than 3 demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.


• Previous LPG/propane experience is considered an asset.


• Prior commercial driving experience is required.


• Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.


• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.


• Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.


• Available and willing to work overtime when required, particularly during peak seasonal demand (winter months).


• Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.


• Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.


• Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.


• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.


• Ability to identify and describe mechanical issues on the truck/trailer.


• Very customer-oriented with a professional and courteous attitude.
