Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking motivated, customer-oriented individuals to join our team in Airdrie, AB. You must reside in Canada and be legally entitled to work.

The role involves delivering and picking up equipment, inspecting vehicles, and maintaining records in a fast-paced outdoor environment. Qualifications

• Valid Class 5/G driver's license with a clean or satisfactory abstract.
• Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of construction equipment or other heavy loads is an asset.
• Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs and work outdoors year-round.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up equipment to and from customer jobsites.
• Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.
• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
• Perform vehicle inspections daily and check gas, oil and other fluids.
• Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
• Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups and inform management of new sales opportunities.
• Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.
• Complete daily accurate pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs and timesheets.

What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver and pick up equipment to and from customer jobsites.
• Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.
• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
• Perform vehicle inspections daily, as well as checking gas, oil and other fluid levels.
• Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
• Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
• Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
• Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
• Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified
• If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get the customer’s signature. Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets. Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.
• Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.
• Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.
• Complete daily accurate pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs and timesheets.

Qualifications And Requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Valid Class 5/G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
• Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of construction equipment, or other types of heavy loads is an asset.
• Prior commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience driving heavy trucks and/or pulling trailers is an asset (for example Class G/5 Roll-Off trucks, flat decks, or heavy-duty pick-up trucks).
• Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.
• Comfortable with city driving.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.
• Available and willing to work overtime when required.
• Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
• Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
