Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited in Lethbridge, AB is seeking a customer-focused delivery driver to transport a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer sites. You will load/unload, inspect equipment, obtain signatures, and maintain accurate records while upholding safety standards.

The role requires a valid Class 1 or 3 license, the ability to work outdoors year-round, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with a satisfactory abstract and CDL records.
• Comfortable outdoors year-round and driving in various weather/road conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites (aerial, earth moving, and compaction gear).
• Load and unload equipment; secure per safe work procedures and inspect transit when needed.
• Complete daily pre- and post-inspections, regulatory logs and timesheets.
• Check fluid levels and ensure proper signatures on contracts.
• Inform supervisor/management of delivery challenges or new sales opportunities.
• Maintain accurate delivery/pickup records and report missing/broken equipment.

What You’ll Be Doing Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer jobsites. Equipment fleet includes (but is not limited to) aerial, earth moving and compaction equipment.
• Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.
• Complete thorough and accurate daily pre-inspections and post-inspections, regulatory logs and timesheets.
• Check gas, oil and other fluid levels.
• Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
• Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
• Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
• Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
• Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.
• Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified.
• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
• If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get the customer’s signature.
• Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.
• Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.

What You’ll Bring to the Team Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid Class 1 or 3 driver’s license with a satisfactory driver’s abstract and commercial driving record (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
• Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.
• Comfortable with manual transmission.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.
• Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment on flat-bed trucks is required.
• Available and willing to work overtime when required and on an on-call rotation if required.
• Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
• Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
• Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
