Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a customer-focused driver to deliver and pick up a diverse fleet of construction equipment from our Grande Prairie area locations. You will be responsible for loading, securing loads, completing inspections, and documenting logs and signatures with a strong emphasis on safety and professionalism.

Applicants should have a valid Class 3 license, be comfortable outdoors year-round, and possess the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 3 driver's license with a clean (or satisfactory) abstract.
• Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment is required.
• Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather.
• Able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• High level of safety focus and professionalism.
• Willing to work overtime and on-call rotations if required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a diverse fleet of construction equipment to and from customer sites.
• Load and unload equipment and secure per procedures.
• Complete daily pre- and post-inspections and logs.
• Maintain delivery/pickup records and obtain signatures.
• Communicate with dispatch about schedules.
• Keep vehicle clean and professional at all times.

Equipment fleet includes (but is not limited to) aerial, earth moving and compaction equipment.Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.Complete thorough and accurate daily pre-inspections and post-inspections, regulatory logs and timesheets. Check gas, oil and other fluid levels.Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified.Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get customer’s signature. Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets.Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.What You’ll Bring to the TeamQualifications and Requirements:Valid Class 3 driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment on flat-bed trucks is required.Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.Comfortable with manual transmissionPhysical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.Available and willing to work overtime when required and on an on-call rotation if required.Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.Want to learn more about career opportunities at Cooper Equipment Rentals?
