Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited is hiring delivery drivers to transport and service a fleet of pump and generator equipment to and from customer sites in the Langley, Aldergrove area. The role requires a valid G/5 license, comfort with driving heavy trucks, and ability to work outdoors year-round.

Strong safety focus and good communication with dispatch are essential. Applicants should reside in Canada and be legally entitled to work.

Qualifications

• Valid Class G/5 license with clean abstract and up-to-date copy if requested.
• Experience handling transport of construction equipment, especially pump/power units, is an asset.
• Commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience driving heavy trucks or pulling trailers is an asset.
• Willingness to work outdoors year-round in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication and organization skills; able to work with dispatch and customers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and pick up a fleet of pump and generator equipment to and from customer sites.
• Load/unload equipment and secure it per procedures; inspect during transit as needed.
• Record daily pre- and post-inspections, regulatory logs, and timesheets.
• Check fluid levels (gas, oil, etc.).
• Obtain customer signatures on contracts and notify supervisor of issues.
• Communicate with dispatch about delays to inform customers.
• Maintain accurate delivery/pickup records.
• Turn in forms and sheets to Branch Manager with signatures.
• Provide basic safety instructions to customers on equipment use.

What You’ll Be Doing Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver and pick up a fleet of pump and generator equipment to and from customer jobsites.
• Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary.
• Complete thorough and accurate daily pre-inspections and post-inspections, regulatory logs and timesheets.
• Check gas, oil and other fluid levels.
• Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
• Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
• Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
• Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
• Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified.
• Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
• If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get customer’s signature.
• Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets.
• Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.
• Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.
• Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.

What You’ll Bring to the Team Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid Class G/5 driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
• Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of construction equipment, especially pump and power equipment (including towable equipment), would be an asset.
• Prior commercial driving experience is an asset.
• Experience driving heavy trucks and/or pulling trailers is an asset (for example Class G/5 Roll-Off trucks, flat decks, or heavy-duty pick-up trucks).
• Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.
• Comfortable with city driving.
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.
• Available and willing to work overtime when required.
• Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment. Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
• Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
