Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a motivated driver to deliver and pick up equipment at customer jobsites in Alberta. You will load and unload equipment, secure it for transit, inspect vehicles daily and maintain delivery records. A valid Class 5/G license and the ability to work outdoors year‑round are required.

Overtime is available and safety is a priority. Location: 148 East Lake Blvd NE, Airdrie, AB T4A 2G2.

Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5/G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory abstract.
  • Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of construction equipment, or other heavy loads is an asset.
  • Prior commercial driving experience is an asset.
  • Experience driving heavy trucks and/or pulling trailers is an asset.
  • Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather/road conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and pick up equipment to and from customer jobsites.
  • Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and check fluids.
  • Secure customer signature on contracts.
  • Inform dispatch or management of issues or sales opportunities.

What You’ll Be Doing Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and pick up equipment to and from customer jobsites.
  • Load and unload equipment; secure loaded equipment per company safe work procedures and inspect in transit if necessary.
  • Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
  • Perform vehicle inspections daily, as well as checking gas, oil and other fluid levels.
  • Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed.
  • Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
  • Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
  • Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
  • Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified
  • If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get the customer’s signature.
  • Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets.
  • Tag and move broken equipment to repair area.
  • Provide basic instruction to customers on the safe operation of equipment if necessary.
  • Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.
  • Complete daily accurate pre-inspections and post-inspections regulatory logs and timesheets.
What You’ll Bring to the Team Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Valid Class 5/G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
  • Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of construction equipment, or other types of heavy loads is an asset.
  • Prior commercial driving experience is an asset.
  • Experience driving heavy trucks and/or pulling trailers is an asset (for example Class G/5 Roll-Off trucks, flat decks, or heavy-duty pick-up trucks).
  • Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.
  • Comfortable with city driving.
  • Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.
  • Available and willing to work overtime when required.
  • Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
  • Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
