Project Manager, Special Projects Division

ABOUT THE POSITION

Manage, evaluate, and assess information to ensure small to mid-size Special Projects Division (SPD) construction projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to contract specifications. Responsible for overseeing the project planning and execution process.

  • Lead project management for SPD projects, ensuring alignment with contract documents.
  • Participate in project launch and closeout activities.
  • Assist with construction tenders, including bid process, bid leveling, and subcontract negotiations.
  • Contribute to project schedule development and management.
  • Manage project insurance and documentation.
  • Oversee submittals and shop drawings, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Coordinate with architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors, and owner representatives to resolve issues.
  • Oversee contract drawings and subcontract information, ensuring consistency with estimates.
  • Manage project finances, including budgeting, financial reporting, invoicing, and claims.
  • Lead or participate in operational review meetings.
  • Oversee Last Planner System cadence and continuous improvement activities.
  • Participate in safety activities and ensure quality control procedures are followed.
  • Conduct quality inspections and manage change orders.
  • Oversee project closeout, including final records and warranties.
  • Supervise project staff and provide performance feedback.
  • Develop scope of work documents and project reports.
  • Coordinate subcontractor meetings and review submittals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to sit, use hands, reach, talk, hear, view monitors, and perform work on-site at construction locations. Occasionally required to lift up to 23 kg.

ABOUT YOU

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years of related experience or equivalent.
  • Experience in construction or related industries preferred.
  • Familiarity with BIM, lean, and contract documents.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with a knowledge of continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
