A large construction organization in Nova Scotia is seeking a Project Engineer to support project planning, execution, and delivery. The role requires a balance of office and field work, a strong technical background in Civil/Mining Engineering, and effective communication skills. Ideal candidates will have relevant experience in heavy civil construction, a valid Class 5 Driver’s License, and proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Municipal Group of Companies is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of heavy civil construction, waste & environmental, and logistic courier and hauling services within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently seeking the qualifications and expertise of a Project Engineer based out of Yarmouth, NS.
The Project Engineer will assist in the planning, executing, and delivery of projects with a focus on safety, budget and schedule. The Project Engineer will help define project requirements and scope, acquire project resources, and support team members. Efficient delivery of project requirements, effective quality control, and clear communication of expectations. The Project Engineer is required to possess a strong technical aptitude that can be applied in an office and field role to support site operations.
The Project Engineer will be required to perform a balance of office and field work. Field work and company site visits will require the use of minimum PPE (Hardhat, Steel Toe Boots, reflective vest, etc.). Other PPE might also be necessary and will be driven by the environment of the work sites (specialized PPE, Gas monitors, Fall Arrest and Breathing Apparatus). Other travel on behalf of the company may be necessary to represent the Company or Project.
