Job summary

Ultimate Renovations is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to join our team in Calgary. You will collaborate with Estimating, Sales, Design and Production to prep projects for construction, review information, assist with estimates, coordinate pricing, and ensure all details are organized before construction begins.

This role is ideal for someone with construction knowledge who enjoys numbers, plans, details, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous experience or education in residential construction, project coordination, estimating, construction management or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills; excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing construction estimates and project budgets.
• Review drawings, specifications and project information to understand the required scope of work.
• Complete material and labour takeoffs.
• Request, organize and review pricing from trade partners and suppliers.
• Assist with preparing scopes of work and project specifications.
• Help identify missing information, scope gaps and potential cost considerations.
• Coordinate project information between Estimating, Sales, Design and Production.
• Assist with pricing change orders and project revisions.
• Maintain estimating templates, pricing information and cost databases.
• Review job-cost information and completed projects to improve estimating accuracy.
• Communicate with trades and suppliers to clarify requirements, pricing and lead times.
• Organize project documentation and ensure key information is complete before construction begins.
• Assist with project setup, job starts and other pre-construction coordination as required.
• Continue developing knowledge of residential construction methods, sequencing and costs.

Construction Project Coordinator

Ultimate Renovations is looking for an organized, detail-oriented and motivated Construction Project Coordinator to join our team.

For over 45 years, Ultimate Renovations has specialized in high-end residential renovations throughout Calgary and surrounding areas. Our projects range from major interior renovations and additions to complete home transformations.

As a Construction Project Coordinator, you will work closely with our Estimating, Sales, Design and Production teams to help prepare projects for construction. A large part of this role will involve reviewing project information, assisting with estimates, coordinating pricing, preparing scopes of work and ensuring project details are organized before construction begins.

This is a great opportunity for someone with construction knowledge who enjoys working with numbers, plans, details and people. You do not need to be an experienced estimator, but you should be comfortable learning how renovation projects are scoped, priced and prepared for construction.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with preparing construction estimates and project budgets.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience or education in residential construction, project coordination, estimating, construction management or a related field.
• A basic understanding of residential construction methods, materials and sequencing.
• Renovation experience would be considered an asset.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable communicating with contractors, suppliers and internal team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and an ability to learn construction and estimating software.
• Post-secondary education in construction management, architectural technology, engineering technology, estimating or a related discipline would be considered an asset.
