Job description

Work with one of the fastest growing Home Renovation selling company. We focus primarily on Kitchen and Bath Renovations.

Being proactive, fast/resourceful communication, attention to detail, good observation skills, renovation/construction experience, multi-tasking, bit of a hustler and closing the loops (limiting opening new ones) are the skills which will make you successful in this position.

Job Description & Responsibilities
  • Co-ordinate Kitchen and Bathroom Renovation Projects
  • Work closely with the Design Consultants to learn the requirements of each project.
  • Plan, create schedule and organize suppliers and contractors for the projects.
  • Co-ordinate the sub trades, partners and internal team job days to make sure job is delivered smoothly and on time. Monitor the schedules and measure them against established project type specific guidelines.
  • Keep your calendar up to date with schedules of all the jobs and its sub parts.
  • Follow up with the job delivery individuals few days prior and a day before the job to ensure the person will be on time and knows exactly what the job is.
  • Keep the Design Consultant and Manager always in loop.
  • On the job site, stay updated with the day to day job progress. For progress update visit or video call or by other means as feasible.
  • Follow the proper process and update the job progress in the hubspot (or any other tool that company may use).
  • On the job site, if there are any deficiencies, bring them to the attention of the person or contractor who will resolve those deficiencies. This should be done proactively.
  • Deliver a satisfactory end product to the client.
  • Any questions or concerns, bring to the notice of the concerned person and the Senior manager.
  • Be proactive to help trades or any job delivery person on the site. You may need to run around a bit. There could be some other tasks too related which may be required to achieve the desired job outcome.
  • Discuss any change orders with the clients during the project execution phase and update it in the proposals.
  • You will be liaison between all the persons and the moving parts.
  • You may need to find and short list new suppliers/trades/partners. Your Manager will provide you the guidance you need.
  • If need be, find and hire new contractors/sub contractors and trades people.
  • Proactively show care towards client, their homes, your team-mates and trades.
  • Place the purchase orders with vendors and construction material suppliers.
  • Build a courteous and happy working environment.
  • Some handyperson experience like drywall patching or minor alignments/adjustments or something related to renovations will be helpful.
Candidate Qualifications
  • 5+ Years Experience of coordination and managing a renovation or construction projects
  • Engineering Degree (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical). It will help you to understand the technicalities and ease into the position much easily.
  • Willing to travel from Calgary to Edmonton as we work in Edmonton as well
  • Construction management or Renovation management experience is preferred. Residential renovation experience is a plus.
  • Need to have a driving license, clean driving record and own vehicle as this job requires driving.
  • Empathy. We are big on caring for clients, team-mates and sub contractors. As you will be the glue between multiple moving parts, so some empathy goes a long way.
  • Availability: You should be available to your team-mates, contractors and trades people on the phone/messages/whatsapp. If you can’t answer the phone when you are busy, do message or call at the earliest possible opportunity. Sometimes your answer is essential for someone to make a progress in their job.
  • Solution Driven and Problem Solver: Your Senior Manager and others will be there to help you. However we expect you to be a problem solver. If you see a problem, let’s say, a particular contractor doesn’t show up, we expect you to think , make some calls, and try to figure out the solution. Think all the variables that may get affected and realign the schedules to keep things moving smoothly.
  • Avid Learner: Every day, every job is a learning opportunity. You should be a learner who likes to learn new things.
  • Attention to Detail: Magic lies in detail. On job sites and in coordination it’s the little details that matter. Be very detailed while auditing the work and progress.
  • Short Talks: To build rapport with various people you are going to work with, short talks and engaging with others will help.
  • Finisher: Often people start something new with full vigor but don’t finish well. You should be a finisher. If you start a task, no matter how interesting or boring it is, you should inculcate the habit of finishing it well.
  • Able to handle pressure: In this job, you are going to meet different people, new clients, trades etc. There are going to be different personalities. You should be able to handle and perform well under certain pressure situations. As such, things are usually smooth, but sometimes you will experience bit rugged terrains.
  • Enjoy the process: Results are the byproducts of a good process. You should be process oriented and willing to proactively learn the processes. Introduce and share a process or suggestion to your Manager.
  • Good Listener: To catch small little yet important details, you would need to be a good listener.
  • You should have a vehicle and license
