University Health Network (UHN) is Canada’s largest hospital network with multiple sites including Toronto General, Toronto Western, Princess Margaret and more. The Pharmacy Technician role supports inpatient operations, performing compounding, dispensing, and documentation across sites.

The position requires completion of a Pharmacy Technician program and registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, with opportunities across various departments and shifts.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent required
  • Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery
  • Two years practical and related experience preferred
  • Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independently performing all technical aspects of prescription preparation including compounding and dispensing responsibilities, as per master worksheets
  • Replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas
  • Ensuring patient information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy computer system
  • Completing all required reports and documentation
  • Attending, participating and assisting in staff and patient training/educational functions
  • Performing workload measurement support functions
  • Performing cross-functional and/other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested

Wage Range: $27.56 - $34.45 per hour / $32.32 - $37.26 per hour (start rate is non-negotiable and in accordance with collective agreement requirements)

Position Summary

As an integral member of the Pharmacy Services Inpatient Operations Team, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the following:
