Job summary

University Health Network’s Outpatient Pharmacy at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a temporary full-time 18-month contract. The role supports pharmacists in dispensing and related duties, with a wage range of $32.32–$37.26 per hour and a 37.5-hour work week.

Reporting to the Manager, you will join a dedicated team and contribute to high-quality patient care in a leading Canadian cancer centre, with probationary and collective agreement considerations.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery.
• Two years practical and related experience preferred.
• Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service, preferred.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

• Working in conjunction with pharmacists in maintaining high standards of client relations
• Assisting pharmacists in accurately and efficiently performing all technical aspects relating to prescription dispensing responsibilities
• Preparing or compounding extemporaneous products using appropriate techniques under supervision of a pharmacist
• Performing activities relating to the maintenance and operation of Outpatient Pharmacy services
• Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required

Wage Range: $32.32 to $37.26 per hour (start rate is non-negotiable and in accordance with collective agreement requirements)

Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week

Status: Temporary Full-Time (18 Months Contract)
