Job summary

University Health Network in Toronto, ON is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for the Outpatient Pharmacy at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The role is a temporary full-time, 18 months, on-site position reporting to the Manager.

The job requires completion of a Pharmacy Technician program, Ontario registration, and strong communication skills. Two years of related experience and hospital exposure are preferred; the wage range is CAD 32.32–37.26 per hour with a 37.5 hour work week.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent.
• Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Two years practical and related experience preferred.
• Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service, preferred.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

• Working in conjunction with pharmacists in maintaining high standards of client relations.
• Assisting pharmacists in accurately and efficiently performing all technical aspects relating to prescription dispensing responsibilities.
• Preparing or compounding extemporaneous products using appropriate techniques under supervision of a pharmacist.
• Performing activities relating to the maintenance and operation of Outpatient Pharmacy services.
• Performing other duties consistent with the job classification, as required.
