She is independent with mobility and personal care but experiences memory challenges and needs support with daily tasks, medication management, and cognitive redirection. She is domesticated and capable of basic activities but requires supervision, prompting, and gentle guidance to stay on track throughout the day.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and prompting for light meal preparation while respecting her ability to help herself
  • Monitor and remind about medication timing using organized pill boxes, including gentle redirection when she forgets whether doses were taken
  • Accompany on daily walks with attention to safety, time management, and bladder control needs
  • Assist with laundry tasks including operating washing machine/dryer and emptying garbage bins
  • Support with grocery shopping and proper food storage, monitoring where items are placed
  • Provide memory prompts and gentle redirection for cognitive support
  • Maintain steady routines and offer light conversation for grounding
  • Respect dietary restrictions including food allergies and no pork
  • Complete daily reports documenting activities, observations, and any concerns
  • Communicate proactively with family about significant issues

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting seniors with memory challenges and Parkinson's disease

  • Valid driver's license for occasional transportation
  • Comfortable working in a home with security cameras

Schedule:

Additional Considerations

Caregiver must be skilled at gentle redirection and managing situations where the client may become stubborn or insistent (e.g., extended walks). Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities are essential, as the caregiver should be able to think quickly and redirect the client appropriately without always relying on family intervention. Experience with memory challenges and Parkinson's disease is important. The client tends to pack items away and forget about them, requiring monitoring. Cultural sensitivity and comfort working with a person of color is required.
