Job summary

FYidoctors - Tisdale - Healthplex is looking for an Optical Associate to join our team on a part-time basis (20-29 hours/week). You will greet patients, help with eyewear choices, interpret prescriptions, and support clinic operations in a collaborative environment.

Ideal candidates have optical or retail experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office. Competitive wages with quarterly bonuses and a strong benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Previous optical experience or retail experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email.
• Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, assisting with frame selection to ensure optimal value, quality, aesthetics, and performance.
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist.
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments.
• Coordinate appointments, and prepare prescription printouts.
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties.
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive patient experience.
• Support clinic operations by performing additional duties as required.
