Job summary

FYidoctors Penticton - Skaha Lake clinic is seeking an Optical Associate to join our team in a full-time capacity, 30-40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday. You’ll greet patients, help with eyewear selections, interpret prescriptions, and ensure precise fittings and adjustments while supporting billing and contact lens orders.

We value candidates with optical or retail experience, strong communication, and a collaborative, proactive mindset.

Qualifications

Previous optical experience or retail experience is considered an asset.
Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for connecting with patients.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome patients to the clinic, engage with patients in person, by phone, and via email.
Educate patients on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle and assist with frame selection.
Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist.
Perform frame and facial measurements and ensure proper fit of eyewear, plus repairs and adjustments.
Coordinate appointments and prepare prescription printouts.
Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers, and third parties.
Assist with contact lens fittings and process orders.
Deliver exceptional customer service and a positive patient experience.
Support clinic operations with additional duties as required.
