Job summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students with exceptional needs in regular classrooms. This 50% term position offers 17.5 hours per week (8:15–11:45) under the direction of the Principal, with focus on ASD and developmental disabilities, and collaboration with teaching and support staff.

Qualifications

• Requirements include DSW/CYW or equivalent
• Experience with ASD and developmental disabilities is valued
• Knowledge of assistive tech and safety procedures

Responsibilities

• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities
• Assist in pool programs and physiotherapy exercises
• Modify programs and support learning for students with learning disabilities
• Assist with toileting and lifting as needed
• Provide general classroom support and behaviour data collection
• Collaborate with teaching and other staff
