Job summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant on a 100% term basis, 35 hours per week, to support students with exceptional needs across our schools.

Responsibilities include assisting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities, adapting programs, and providing support for deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired students, with potential pool and yard duties. Compensation is CAD 28.45/hour plus 4% vacation pay.

Qualifications

• Diploma in DSW/CYW or equivalent.
• 1–2 years' experience with school-aged students with special needs.
• First Aid/CPR Level C is an asset.
• Completed NVCI/TCI and/or Behaviour Management Systems training.
• Include copies of relevant diplomas/certificates.

Responsibilities

• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities.
• Participate in pool programs and academic support.
• Assist with deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired students.
• Provide physiotherapy exercises and stretches.
• Modify programs for learning disabilities and speech/language issues.
• May perform yard duties, lifting, toileting, pool duties.
