Job summary

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is seeking an Educational Assistant for a 50% term, 17.5 hours per week (11:30-3:15). Under the Principal, you will support students with exceptional needs in a collaborative school team, handling confidentiality and flexible assignments including pool duties and physical therapy activities.

The ideal candidate holds a community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker or Child and Youth Care/Worker, with 1–2 years of relevant experience;

Qualifications

• The successful candidate must have a community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent.
• Minimum 1–2 years of related experience with school-aged students with exceptional needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with pool programs, academic support, and implementation of special programs.
• Support deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired students; assist with physiotherapy exercises.
