We are seeking an accomplished Operations Manager to lead one of our CNC machining operations at our 120,000 sq. ft. advanced manufacturing facility in Toronto. As the Operations Manager, you will oversee the strategic and day-to-day operations of our machining department. You’ll ensure precision, from scheduling, to quality engineering to manufacturing and to shipping on time to customers. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability. You’ll collaborate across departments, guide your team’s development, and implement processes that make our operations stronger, leaner, and more effective.
What You’ll Lead and Deliver
- Direct all aspects of production scheduling to ensure timely, quality-driven delivery to customers.
- Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations, ensuring a safe, productive workplace.
- Oversee staffing and workforce planning, manage shift schedules, vacation planning, and skill deployment.
- Use data-driven insights to evaluate departmental performance and implement corrective actions.
- Lead quality, engineering, and production control to align priorities and resolve bottlenecks.
- Champion employee training and development, maintaining a robust skills matrix and onboarding program.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts with measurable outcomes.
- Act as a cross-functional liaison to expedite work orders and maintain manufacturing momentum.
- Manage administrative tasks including timekeeping, payroll approvals, and vacation tracking.
- Drive a culture of engagement, coaching, and performance management with a focus on team success.

- Lead effective forecast to meet 100% budget objectives set up by the Business.
- Eliminate returned materials from customers and customer complaints deploying discipline and diligence in effective Process Improvements and Standard Operative Instructions
Education
- Must hold a mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace or similar Engineering Degree
- MBA is highly preferred
- Certified Black belt Six Sigma or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in CNC machining environments.
- Expertise in production scheduling, workflow optimization, and shop-floor operations.
- Strong Knowledge of AS9100 requirements
- Deep knowledge in Quality Engineering, APQP, aerospace customer specs
- Deep knowledge on GD&T
- Knowledge on CNC programming
- Strong knowledge on using CAD, solid works or equivalent software
- At least 2 years of experience as ME or QE in Aerospace company
- Demonstrated success in managing teams, building training programs, and fostering accountability.
- Strong working knowledge of safety, compliance, and quality systems; AS9100, ISO9001, or NADCAP experience is an asset.
- Confident decision-making skills, strong conflict resolution, and clear communication at all levels.
- Technical aptitude with hands-on knowledge of machine tools, precision measuring, and machining practices.
- A mindset of continuous improvement, backed by the ability to analyze data, implement changes, and lead with purpose.
