Job summary

A municipal government is seeking a Program Assistant for Ontario Works. This role involves providing clerical support, including tasks such as data entry, handling social assistance cheques, and providing coverage for reception. The ideal candidate should have a Grade 12 graduation, relevant experience, and a valid Ontario driver’s license. The position is permanent full time with a salary range of $24.96 – $31.20 per hour. Remote and on-site work will be required based on operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Grade 12 plus one-year additional program in business/computer.
  • 1-2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clerical support and activities within the Department.
  • Print and distribute cheques, manage files and records.
  • Maintain logs, conduct checks, and assist with audits.

Skills

Interpersonal communication skills
Knowledge of general office equipment
Computer expertise in Microsoft Office
Valid Ontario driver's license

Education

Grade 12 graduation plus one-year program
