Job summary

Northern Computer Inc. (NCI) is seeking a motivated Field Service Technician to join our on-site team in Edmonton. You will resolve issues, perform proactive visits, and install gear while coordinating with Service Desk, NOC/SOC, projects, and account management.

As the face of on-site support, you will document work, maintain IT Glue records, and ensure clear communication with clients. Travel up to 75% and a company vehicle are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of IT Field Services experience.
• Minimum 3 years supporting business technology environments.
• Tier 2 to Tier 3 technical support experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and travel up to 75% of the time.
• Work location: Edmonton Office, in person.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite technical support as the primary technician for client environments.
• Diagnose, repair, and validate fixes for endpoint, network, and infrastructure problems.
• Complete proactive site visits on a regular cadence and document findings.
• Install and stage hardware including racks, access points, switches, firewalls, servers, and peripherals.
• Execute device adds/moves/changes and support deployments with NOC, Service Desk, and Projects.
• Maintain high-quality ticketing practices with clear documentation and next steps.
• Update IT Glue documentation after onsite visits or changes.
• Communicate clearly with end users and site contacts with professional onsite interactions.
• Ensure hardware is not left behind and manage tools, loaner kits, and company vehicle.
• Surface opportunities, risks, and project/quote needs to AM/TDM/SDM with context.
