Job summary

RHI Magnesita is seeking a Service Technician to support customers with hands-on technical expertise, refractory installation, equipment maintenance, inspections, and field service solutions. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to work with a variety of industrial customers while supporting critical plant operations and refractory projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years of experience in industrial field service, refractories, steel, or non-ferrous metals environments.
• Ability to travel up to 50% within Canada and to the United States.
• Experience with refractory installation, bricklaying, welding, forming, pouring, shotcrete, or gunning is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Experience operating forklifts, aerial work platforms, and other industrial equipment.
• Fluent English; French an asset; strong communication skills.
• Health and safety compliance knowledge; relevant certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

• Practice Safety Skills Daily.
• Manage refractory products including inventory, installation and monitoring performance.
• Support refractory installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair activities at customer locations.
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and layouts to ensure accurate installation and maintenance activities.
• Conduct product audits and investigations when required.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment, scanners, thermal imaging cameras, and related diagnostic tools.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and tools.
• Maintain accurate documentation, expense reports, and project records while representing RHI Magnesita professionally.
