Job summary

RHI Magnesita is seeking a Refractory Technical Specialist for Ironmaking & Reheat, fully remote in Canada. You will lead refractory product trials, work with customers and sales teams to optimize performance, and deliver training.

This role requires 5+ years in refractories or steel industry applications, with strong communication and field support skills. You will collaborate with R&D on product development and continuous improvement, recommend lining designs, and support sustainability goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline (advanced degree preferred).
  • 5+ years in refractories, ironmaking, or steel industry applications.
  • Strong understanding of refractory technologies and steelmaking processes.
  • Ability to work safely in heavy industrial environments and follow OSHA requirements.
  • Mechanical aptitude and field support experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft 365 skills; SAP experience is a plus.

Role Overview

Are you passionate about solving complex challenges in the steel industry? As an Ironmaking & Reheat Specialist, you will serve as a key technical expert supporting customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders across Canada. Working closely with Sales, R&D, Operations, and Recycling teams, you will optimize refractory solutions, support innovation, and drive sustainable growth.
