Job summary

TELUS Health in Mississauga is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our on-site clinic. The part-time role focuses on comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, and collaborative care with families and an interdisciplinary team.

You will develop goals and monitor progress to improve functional outcomes for pediatric clients. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in Occupational Therapy, is in good standing, and brings at least two years of pediatric experience with strong

  • Licensed in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pediatric experience.
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and intervention skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with families and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric patients (sensory, motor, cognitive).
  • Identify strengths, challenges, and areas for improvement with standardized tests and inputs.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans focused on goals and functional outcomes.
  • Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary team for coordinated care.
  • Provide progress updates, recommendations, and goals during meetings and conferences.

Job description

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate sensory, motor, and cognitive abilities of pediatric patients.
  • Identify individual strengths, challenges, and areas for improvement through standardized tests, clinical observations, and parent/caregiver input.
  • Develop personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings, focusing on therapeutic goals and functional outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care and effective treatment planning.
  • Provide clear and concise progress updates, recommendations, and goals during team meetings and parent conferences.
What You Bring
  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
  • In good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with pediatric populations
  • Strong clinical skills in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of various paediatric therapies
  • Sound clinical and professional judgment consistent with accepted models of practice, with demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize workload and adapt to a changing caseload
  • Strong teamwork skills in the areas of mentoring, motivation and creative problem-solving

Terms

Part Time 22.5 hours per week Saturdays are required Working onsite in our clinic, located at 1100 Central Parkway West, Mississauga ON
