Job summary

Aecon, in partnership with CanAtom, is delivering the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment. The Trade Superintendent will supervise construction activities, coordinate with the JV team, and ensure work is performed safely, on time, and to high quality standards.

This role requires strong leadership in a complex nuclear environment on a major refurbishment program. We value collaboration with OPG, engineering, quality, and field teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of construction and subcontractor supervision experience.
• Experience in managing major refurbishment or complex nuclear projects.
• Experience managing and working in a large joint venture.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, blueprints and specifications.
• Must have a full appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead the General Foreperson and Foreperson executing on shift.
• Monitor plans/schedules and identify risks and issues.
• Create collaboration and partnering with OPG, Engineering, Quality, and the OCC.
• Enforce safety, quality and human performance programs.
• Ensure policies and project procedures are followed by project personnel.
• Utilize project master schedule and look-ahead schedules for foremen and subcontractors.
• Monitor and manage risks, develop recovery strategies with CSS.
• Ensure project is constructed in accordance with drawings, ITPs, and budget.
• Interface with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, and other contractors.
