Job summary

The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory is seeking a Homelessness Services Worker to provide housing options and case management for men in shelter and the community. You will perform intake, assessment, referrals, and crisis intervention, aiming to transition clients to stable housing.

Responsibilities include developing housing plans, regular reviews, confidentiality, and collaboration with landlords, community partners and social services to secure resources and support for clients.

Qualifications

• College diploma in social services or equivalent experience.
• Completion of Non-Violence Crisis Intervention Training, or willingness to obtain.
• Current First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain.
• Training in Naloxone administration and Mental Health First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Provide intake, assessment and referral services, crisis intervention and eviction prevention.
• Develop and implement case management of assigned clients and discharge plans.
• Meet with a service user every 10-14 days to review housing plans.
• Maintain caseload and document all contacts and sessions.
• Perform social histories and formulate case plans to meet client needs.
• Coordinate care and connect clients with resume prep and job searches.
