Job summary

The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory is seeking a Direct Support Worker for Crossroads Residential Services - Warming Centre in Saskatoon to support adults in crisis and homelessness in a safe, stable shelter environment.

You will handle admissions, policy enforcement, client needs, incident reporting, and meals, while coordinating with the Team Lead and Housing Services Manager. This role emphasizes safety, dignity and trauma-informed care.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school is required.
• Post-secondary diploma in Social Service Work and/or Mental Health & Addictions is an asset.
• First Aid/CPR and trauma-informed care training or willingness to obtain.
• Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector check is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to clients in a warming centre setting.
• Follow program policies and maintain client confidentiality.
• Document requirements and assist with intake, orientation and rules.
• Assist with meals, cleaning, and incident reporting as needed.
• Support residents and coordinate with Housing Services Manager.
