Job summary

The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory is seeking a part-time Manager to supervise shelter program staff and ensure high-quality service delivery for residents. The role focuses on day-to-day operations, safety, and collaboration with social services to meet client needs.

Shifts are weekends, with 16 hours per week, flexible scheduling, and duties include staff oversight, training recommendations, and incident handling in line with health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a related field is required.
• Non-violent crisis intervention certification and CPR/First Aid certification would be an asset or willingness to obtain.
• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license, own vehicle and insurance are required.
• Experience working with homeless populations and diverse communities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise program staff and day-to-day operations in line with The Salvation Army’s mission and values.
• Oversee staff scheduling to ensure coverage for all shifts, holidays, and vacations.
• Provide crisis intervention support and conflict resolution to ensure resident and staff safety.
• Lead staff development and training recommendations to enhance service delivery.
• Collaborate with social service staff and participate in shift handovers to maintain clear communication.
